Current AHEC Employees Receive Promotions
Lainey C. Mattox has been promoted to NE KY AHEC’s new assistant center director position. Lainey has been with AHEC for 4 years, starting out as the education assistant in the student services division. From there, she was promoted to health careers coordinator, whereshe worked with high school and undergraduate students for two and a half years. In her new role, Lainey will assist the center director with various budgeting and administrative tasks. She earned a bachelor’s degree in science and technology from Morehead State University (2011) and is now pursuing a master’s degree in business administration from MSU.
Ashley Shelton, who acted as educational assistant for the health careers division, will step up to fill the coordinator position left vacant by Lainey. Ashley, who has a master’s degree in wellness promotion from MSU, joined the AHEC team in June 2015. In that short time, she has revitalized the Notes from Home program, and overseen the Summer Health Internship Program. Her new responsibilities will also include organizing the Rural Health Scholars program.
