Hensley Promoted to Assistant Director of the Northeast Kentucky AHEC

MOREHEAD – The Northeast Kentucky Area Health Education Center (NE KY AHEC) is proud to announce the promotion of KaSandra Hensley from Education Coordinator to Assistant Director, effective Aug. 27.

Hensley is a Morehead native and a Morehead State University alumnus with a degree in business administration with an emphasis in accounting. Hensley has been a devoted employee to the NE KY AHEC for more than six years. Starting in the organization as an intern, she also served as an Educational Assistant before moving into the Education Coordinator position in 2015.

“KaSandra has performed exceedingly well as our Education Coordinator,” said David A. Gross, NE KY AHEC director. “Much of the new grant funding we have received over the past two years is a direct result of her willingness to take on new challenges – and then to deliver high-quality results. I am confident she will perform equally well as our new Assistant Director.”

In this new role, Hensley will still coordinate continuing education activities as well as assist Gross with oversight of the AHEC’s day-to-day operations and responsibilities.

“I’m really excited to continue serving AHEC and northeast Kentucky in this new capacity,” Hensley said. “I am eager to get started, and thankful for this opportunity to continue to grow both personally and professionally.”

In the near future, KaSandra plans to pursue a master’s degree in business administration with an emphasis in health care.
